Connecticut Chamber Choir
A Bernstein Celebration
The Connecticut Chamber Choir, under the direction of Constance Chase, proudly presents the New England premiere of Doreen Rao’s concert edition for chorus, children’s chorus, and tenor and soprano soloists. The new edition scales down the length and the number of musical forces required, while retaining the dramatic, thematic, and musical integrity of the original work. Joining the CCC are Samuel Levine, tenor as The Celebrant, soprano Christine Cornell, and the Chamber Singers of the Fairfield County Children’s Choir, Jon Noyes, Music Director and Founder. CCC accompanist Jeffrey Wood will be joined at the piano and organ by percussionists Stephen Collins and James Deitz, and flutist Lynn Cunningham . The program will conclude with “Make Our Garden Grow,” from Bernstein’s operetta Candide.
