Connecticut Chamber Choir Auditions
AUDITIONS for Connecticut Chamber Choir, Constance Chase, Artistic Director. CCC will audition experienced choral singers in all voice parts by appointment on Tuesday evenings, September 10 and 24. Rehearsals are held in Trumbull, CT. Performances: January 12, 2014, Sublime: works by Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Brahms and Fauré for chorus, organ and strings; May 4, 2014, American Made: Recent works by American composers plus a few old favorites, featuring guest artist, Christopher Judd, baritone, and the New England premiere of “The Tempest,” by composer Elizabeth Lim.

The West Hartford Women's Chorale, a non-audition chorale, holds Open Rehearsals to introduce interested singers to the chorale and it's repertoire. Any woman is welcome regardless of musical experience. No obligation.
There are no auditions.
The Camerata, a smaller ensemble, is available for more experienced singers who would like to audition. The Camerata performs with the chorale.
The chorale sings a variety of choral music from classical, traditional, American spiritual and modern repertoire.

MYTH AMERICA: A story-telling program
Master storyteller Carol Birch will perform a one-woman show to benefit the Connecticut Choral Society.
Nationally recognized master storyteller Carol Birch presents an arresting portrait of America during the first four decades of the 20th century, sharing stories about legendary Lou Gehrig, an Irish immigrant’s experience, a portrait of Ray Bradbury's grandmother, and a riveting John Steinbeck tale. The program (for adults and older teens) is a benefit performance for the CT Choral Society. Birch will captivate your interest, engage your emotions, and give you an unforgettable experience.
Carol Birch received the Circle of Excellence, an award given by peers to storytellers honored as masters who set the standards for excellence. She taught in CT (at Wesleyan and Southern Connecticut State University) and lectured at more than 40 universities nationwide. She has performed extensively at regional festivals as well as at the National Storytelling Festival in Tennessee. International invitational tours have taken her to Europe, Singapore, and Australia. She has appeared on ABC's Nightline, CBS' Morning Show and on National Public Radio.
