CGMC seeking male singers age 18 and over
The Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus is seeking male singers age 18 and over for our December 2015 performances of Babes in Boyland.
The Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus is seeking male singers age 18 and over for our December 2015 performances of Babes in Boyland. For this year's holiday extravaganza, we're inviting some incredibly talented female singers from all over Connecticut to help us celebrate the holidays with our special CGMC twist! Performances are December 12 and 13, 2015 in New Haven. Rehearsals are Tuesday nights at 7:30 beginning September 8. Auditions will be held in New Haven on both Tuesday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 15 beginning at 7 pm. No previous experience necessary - even if you just enjoy singing in the shower, we encourage you to check us out. You don't even have to be able to read music. Just commit to attend rehearsals every Tuesday evening from September through mid-December, and have a great time. Please prepare a song that showcases your talent; pianist will be provided. These performances will be a part of the Connecticut Gay Men's Chorus season but we are seeking men of all ages and orientation for this work — singers will not be required to join the chorus. GMChorale to Audition New Singers
GMChorale (Greater Middletown Chorale; www.gmchorale.org) is inviting experienced singers to audition with its Artistic Director, Joseph D'Eugenio, for their next concert season.
GMChorale (Greater Middletown Chorale; www.gmchorale.org) is inviting experienced singers to audition with its Artistic Director, Joseph D'Eugenio, for their next concert season. Following the recent record-breaking attendance at their performances of "Messiah" and Mozart’s "Requiem" in collaboration with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra at the MHS Performing Arts Center, Director D’Eugenio, who has also been selected as Guest Conductor for CONCORA’s Summer Festival 2015 in July, will continue to focus on great choral masterworks, accompanied by the NHSO.
Plans for the next season’s programs are being finalized, with Gabriel Fauré’s "Requiem" and "Cantique de Jean Racine" scheduled for November 2015, and Bernstein’s "Chichester Psalms" and Haydn’s "Lord Nelson Mass" scheduled for Spring 2016.
In September, GMChorale will be moving to a new, more centralized rehearsal space at Bethany Lutheran Church, 50 Court St. in Cromwell, right off I-91 and Rt. 9, which will be more accessible to singers in the Hartford, New Haven and Shoreline areas. The first rehearsal for the upcoming season will be held on Tuesday, September 8, from 7-9:30 pm.
Auditions for interested, experienced choral singers will be held on Tuesday, August 18; Wednesday, August 26; and Wednesday, September 1, 2015. All auditions will be held at First Congregational Church in Cheshire in the afternoon/evening.
