Holiday Celebration
Works by Bach, Rutter and R. Vaughan Williams
The Cappella Cantorum Masterworks Chorus will present a Holiday Celebration Saturday, Dec. 2, 7 p.m.at the First Congregational Church of Madison on the Green, Meetinghouse Lane (off Route 1), Madison. Start the holiday season with a joyful evening of music. Cappella's new director Simon Holt of the Salt Marsh Opera will conduct the chorus, professional soloists and orchestra in the performance of Bach's Cantata #140 (Sleepers, Wake!), Rutter's "Gloria" and Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Fantasia on Christmas Carols." Christmas carols will be sung at the end of the program.

The Hartford Gay Men’s Chorus (HGMC) will perform its annual holiday concert, From Tinseltown to Times Square: A Holiday Adventure, at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art’s Aetna Theater on Friday, December 8, and Saturday, December 9, at 8 p.m. A matinee performance will be held Sunday, December 10, at 3 p.m.

Fairfield County Chorale Presents Handel's Messiah
A rarely performed, complete Handel's Messiah
Celebrate the holidays with a Sunday afternoon concert of Handel's Messiah, December 10th at 3:00pm Norwalk Concert Hall, Norwalk, CT.
“It's is rare opportunity to experience the baroque masterpiece in its entirety, including its exhilarating Hallelujah chorus,” said music director, David Rosenmeyer.
The concert features the 100+ voices of the Fairfield County Chorale, their Orchestra, and four dazzling young soloists.
Soloists to be featured are soprano Pascale Beaudin, countertenor Gon Halevi, tenor Nils Neubert, and bass Andrew Cummings.
The Fairfield County Chorale is now in its 55th season of presenting great choral works in southwestern Connecticut. Its mission is to perform a broad range of choral music for the benefit of the community, and to champion the appreciation of excellence in choral literature. The Chorale is comprised of over 100 voices, and every concert is presented with a professional orchestra and soloists. The FCC has presented a number of local, U.S., and world premieres, and has appeared at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. A recent partnership has brought The Chorale to perform regularly with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of William Boughton.

Sing or listen to 'The Messiah' with chorus and soloists
A ‘Messiah’ Sing or Listen, Christmas Section, will be sponsored by Cappella Cantorum Sunday, Dec. 17, 4 p.m. at The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, (The Kate), 300 Main St., Old Saybrook 06475. There will be a short rehearsal for singers at 3:30 p.m. Soloists will be Soprano Danielle Munsell Howard, Mezzo-Soprano Rachel Abrams, Tenor David Finley and Baritone Christopher Grundy. The Sing is open to all, under the direction of Barry Asch and accompanied by Deborah Lyon. Bring ‘Messiah’ scores if you have them or they will be provided. There is a $10 fee for singers and audience.
