Connecticut Chamber Choir

Lux Aeterna

Connecticut Chamber Choir concludes its 40th Anniversary season with a Gala Concert...

With Lux Aeterna Connecticut Chamber Choir presents choral works of enduring beauty from the 20th and 21st centuries. Duruflé’s Requiem and Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna are presented in their entirety with Jonathan Dove’s light-filled “Seek Him That Maketh the Seven Stars” bridging the two works. All three selections are tours de force for chorus and organ and showcase CCC’s collaborative accompanist, Galen Tate. CCC is pleased to present Karolina Wojteczko, mezzo-soprano, and Elijah Blaisdell, baritone, as gala guest artists.
Completing the program are a set of traditional American hymn tunes re-imagined by current American composers—a nod to American congregational singing but through a contemporary lens.
The Gala Finale brings back into the fold CCC Alumni from throughout its forty-year history as the combined voices perform the much-loved Alleluia of Randall Thompson.

Venue: St. Theresa Church
5301 Main Street
