Fairfield County Chorale
A Choral Journey
Join the Fairfield County Chorale for a special concert of music from around the world. This not-to-be-missed program will take the listener on a musical journey featuring a variety of musical styles from the celestial sounds of Giovanni Perluigi da Palestrina, the complex harmonies of Zoltan Koday and Arvo Part, and the sun-soaked rhythms of the feature performance, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Romancero Gitano which will feature Andrés Segovia Award winner Nadav Lev on classical guitar.
This jam-packed program will conclude with a selection of American spirituals, and the world premiere of a new composition, “B Minor Blessing” by Fairfield County’s own Chris Coogan, who will share his inimitable talent at the piano. All vocal solos in the program will be performed by Fairfield County Chorale’s own members.
“We are indeed fortunate to draw from such diverse talent through collaboration with professional musicians like Nadav Lev and Chris Coogan, who are each masters of their genres,” said David Rosenmeyer, Musical Director for the Fairfield County Chorale. “The Fairfield County Chorale as a whole has made significant leaps in terms of the quality and maturity of our musicianship in recent years and this concert really showcases the breadth and depth of the Fairfield County Chorale. Not only has the choir risen to the challenge of presenting a variety of musical styles in disparate global languages, the maturity and quality of their sound has grown substantively over the last several years” added Rosenmeyer.
