Mx Hospital Vocal Chords Looking for Singers
Like to sing but can't read music? No problem! The Middlesex Hospital Vocal Chords has many members just like you who love to sing. No auditions necessary! Just a love of music, singing and a commitment to rehearse every Tuesday night. New members in voice parts alto, tenors and basses are especially welcome! Proof of Covid 19 vaccination required for all members. We provide a supportive environment in which to explore your voice and love of singing. Make new friends and lift your spirits. It is a proven fact that singing with a group is a natural antidepressant, it lowers stress levels and anxiety, improves mental alertness and increases social fulfillment. Don't miss out on a truly life changing experience! Rehearsals start Tuesday February 1st at 6:45 pm at St. Francis Church, Msgr. Fox Parish Hall, 10 Elm St. Middletown, in preparation for our spring concert on May 7th, Portland High School at 7:00 pm.
We are proud and very excited to welcome Samuel Tucker, the current music reacher and choral director at Portland High School, as our new Music Director. Samuel brings a wealth of choral experience to his first season as Music Director of the Middlesex Hospital Vocal Chords.
Proceeds from our concerts are given back to the community in the form of scholarships bestowed upon high school seniors from Middlesex County who are pursuing a career in nursing or music. To date, a total of $76,000 has been awarded thanks to our Patron Drive and many loyal followers. The Vocal Chords also give of their time to sing at various community activities such as the annual Hospice Service at Mercy High School and the Veterans Day Dinner at Portland High School.

GMChorale

Singers Wanted!

GMC is looking for enthusiastic new singers in all vocal ranges (SATB) to join and bring Haydn's "The Creation" to life.

On Sunday, May 1, 2022, GMChorale, one of New England's most engaging and celebrated symphonic choruses, will present Franz Joseph Haydn’s musically innovative and brilliant late-classical oratorio, “The Creation.” GMC is looking for enthusiastic new singers in all vocal ranges (SATB) to join and bring this special work to life.

“The Creation,” composed in 1798, celebrates the creation of the world as described in the Book of Genesis. It presents a unique opportunity for the amateur singer to perform an oratorio that is both musically innovative and a treasured masterwork that at the same time is musically accessible and a perfect introduction to choral singing. It's a great chance to see if singing with a symphonic chorus is for you!

To sign up: Fill out the inquiry form at https://www.gmchorale.org/join or email New Member Coordinator, Margie Livengood at margie.livengood@gmchorale.org. We will contact you to set up a time to meet the conductor.
