GMChorale

GMChorale to Audition New Singers

GMChorale (Greater Middletown Chorale; www.gmchorale.org) is inviting experienced singers to audition with its Artistic Director, Joseph D'Eugenio, for their next concert season.

GMChorale (Greater Middletown Chorale; www.gmchorale.org) is inviting experienced singers to audition with its Artistic Director, Joseph D'Eugenio, for their next concert season. Following the recent record-breaking attendance at their performances of "Messiah" and Mozart’s "Requiem" in collaboration with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra at the MHS Performing Arts Center, Director D’Eugenio, who has also been selected as Guest Conductor for CONCORA’s Summer Festival 2015 in July, will continue to focus on great choral masterworks, accompanied by the NHSO.

Plans for the next season’s programs are being finalized, with Gabriel Fauré’s "Requiem" and "Cantique de Jean Racine" scheduled for November 2015, and Bernstein’s "Chichester Psalms" and Haydn’s "Lord Nelson Mass" scheduled for Spring 2016.

In September, GMChorale will be moving to a new, more centralized rehearsal space at Bethany Lutheran Church, 50 Court St. in Cromwell, right off I-91 and Rt. 9, which will be more accessible to singers in the Hartford, New Haven and Shoreline areas. The first rehearsal for the upcoming season will be held on Tuesday, September 8, from 7-9:30 pm.

Auditions for interested, experienced choral singers will be held on Tuesday, August 18; Wednesday, August 26; and Wednesday, September 1, 2015. All auditions will be held at First Congregational Church in Cheshire in the afternoon/evening. To schedule an audition, please call Margie Livengood at (860) 633-6198 or email her at margielivengood@aol.com.

The Shoreline Chorale

Shoreline Chorale Open Sing

Come experience the joy of singing in a group. Our open sing is a chance to meet the chorale, experience our style and sample our music.

Come and sing with us as we begin preparation for our Fall concert. The theme for this season is the praise of music. We will be performing such pieces as Serenade to Music by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Music Down in My Soul by Moses Hogan

The Shoreline Chorale is a mixed (SATB) non-audition choir that rehearses and performers works from the broad spectrum of choral literature, including unaccompanied selections. Comprised of approximately 35 singers, the ensemble celebrates the joys of music-making and the collaborative community of the performing arts.

Our regular rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:15–9:30 p.m. at Polson Middle School in Madison.

Our Fall concert will occur on Saturday, November 21, 2015, 4pm at the Madison First Congregational Church.
