CONCORA: Connecticut Choral Artists

Part Passio

One of the most important and revered choral composers of the past half-century, the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt is widely known for his mesmerizing compositional style that combines elements of minimalism and Gregorian chant. This Pärt-invented musical technique is known as tintinnabuli, an otherworldly sonic landscape whose meditative style is perfectly suited to the beautiful Trinity College Chapel. We welcome Malcolm Merriweather as guest conductor; Dr Merriweather is the conductor of the New York Philharmonic Chorus, the Dessoff Choirs, and the choirs of the Brooklyn College Conservatory.

Venue: 4:00 pm
Trinity College Chapel

GMChorale

Sing with GMChorale!

GMChorale has a fantastic Spring Season planned for 2024 and we would love for YOU to be a part of it.

GMChorale has a fantastic Spring Season planned for 2024 and we would love for YOU to be a part of it. Our Spring Mainstage concert on Sunday, April 28, will feature Brahms’ “Schicksalslied” (Song of Destiny) - which, in many ways, is like his “Requiem” - and Schubert’s “Mass in E-Flat, No. 6,” his final and most mature composition. This is one of the great Mass settings of all time, and is representative of early-Romanticism with a nod back to the Renaissance and Baroque eras.
GMChorale singers have the opportunity to become better musicians by engaging with these masterpieces with professional section leaders and music teachers, an experience unique to GMChorale.
If you have an interest in joining GMChorale, you are invited to attend the first two rehearsals of 2024. Fill out the inquiry form at https://www.gmchorale.org/join to give your contact information and arrange for an audition. GMChorale rehearses at Bethany Lutheran Church at 50 Court St. in Cromwell on Tuesday nights. Don't miss the unique opportunity to be a part of this singing community and to fall in love again with these timeless masterworks.
